Alex Corretja reveals how Roger Federer participation in Clay this season was a good decision

After the win of Rafael Nadal in Roland Garros and reaching his 18th Grand Slam

the pressure and fight for Grand Slam record is on between the big 3 especially

Djokovic could have at least 4 years on the tour.

The first two Grand Slams in this year went to Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal

and in the 3rd Slam of the year all the pressure will be on Roger Federer as He’s required

to win the title to extend the gap between him and his following rival Nadal and add

another title to his historical record to reach his 21st slam in his career.

The Spaniard Alex Corretja believes that Federer decision to play Clay courts season

was a very good decision especially after reaching the S-Final in Roland Garros

and played in big form even after skipping the Clay for 3 years, besides He think Roger played well.

“I think Federer played a great clay court season [reaching the semi-finals], which

gives him the belief he can win Wimbledon again. Of course, they are looking

at each other, Roger knows it’s 18, he is getting closer.” He told Eurosport

“The best thing about both of them, they don’t compare with others, they just look out for themselves.”

From another side, the former world number 1 Andy Murray feels that Federer

is one of the players who could win the tournament next to Nadal and Djokovic
